Sumin Park 2013:
Hello! My name is Sumin Park and I am a Senior Staff member for the Women’s Center. I am majoring in Chemistry with a Biological Chemistry concentration. I’m from Ambler, a city just outside of Philadelphia. I’m interested in learning about different cultures. I love exotic dishes and am always on the lookout for something new to try. I enjoy meeting new people, watching movies, and playing with my dog Coby. I’m very excited for all the events that we will launch this year! Please feel free to email me if you have any questions or suggestions!
Krysten Costley 2013:
Hey there! I’m Krysten and currently a junior here at HC. I’m premed and majoring in Anthropology and minoring in Chem (busy busy busy). I like chocolate, but it gives me a headache so don’t give that to me often. I’m in love with candles, especially the scented ones so bring some by the Center for our enjoyment. Most importantly, I suppose, is that I’m open to talk about nearly anything so feel free to chat with me whenever or just say hi.
Sara Landers 2013:
Hi! I’m Sara, a junior Psychology major from Long Island, NY. My passions include literature and classical music, and my favorite places on Haverford’s campus are the Philips Wing in Magill (a bright and beautiful place to study), the last practice room on the left in Union (where I can play my flute and piccolo without disturbing anyone), and of course, the Women’s Center. I’m thrilled to be returning to the center as a staff member this year, and I look forward to seeing you at our future events!
Maria Etienne 2013:
Hi! My name is Maria and I’m a junior. I’m from Austin, Texas. I’m majoring in history. I’m learning Italian so feel free to try to communicate with me. Film is my current passion. I’m also a news buff, so I’m always on the internet finding out whats going on. Ciao, Haverford.
Emma Marsden 2013:
Hi Everyone! I’m Emma, a junior psychology major also minoring in gender and sexuality studies. I live on a farm in Avondale, Pennsylvania where I grew up riding horses and enjoying the outdoors. I love baking pies, climbing trees, and playing guitar. My favorite food is definitely watermelon. I’m so excited to be working in The Women’s Center!
Gavi Fried 2014:
Hey Haverford! I’m Gavi, a sophomore and likely English and/or History major. I come from (West) Hartford, Connecticut, the historic home of Harriet Beecher Stowe, Noah Webster, and The Gilmore Girls. My favorite spot on campus is the garden behind the observatory. I enjoy big cities, long-haired dachshunds, fresh berries, and showing the duck pond geese who’s boss.
Interns:
Jari Rizvi 2013:
My name is Jari Rizvi and I am a current junior, double majoring in Mathematics and Economics. This is my first year working as an intern with the Women’s Center, and while I will be helping out with almost every event, my main focus is on spreading awareness about dating violence on campuses, including Haverford’s, and getting men more involved in the fight to prevent violence against women. Outside of the Women’s Center, I am a UCA on Gummere 1/1, a co-president of the South Asian Society, an MSP Coordinator, a member of the Haverford College Humtones, and a co-VP of the BiCo Finance Club (if you’re interested in any of these things, you can come ask me more about them). I am really excited for this year and I look forward to seeing you all around campus and interacting with you!
