Staff:

Misha Baker ‘10: Hey everyone! I’m Misha and I’m a senior Anthropology major at Haverford Colllege. I love working at the Women’s Center and trying to foster a healthy and open space for ‘Fords to talk about different women’s issues. If you have some extra time stop by the center and see what we’re all about!

Cara Curtis ‘10: Hey everyone! I’m a senior from Greenbelt, Maryland who’s been a Women’s Center groupie (”staff member”) since April of ‘07.  My research interests include the outdoors, bagels, and gender-intentional spaces, and I’ve the unique opportunity to study these simultaneously while playing with the Sneetches, the Bi-Co women’s frisbee team.  I’m also a huge religion nerd (it’s my major); if you stopped by the WC and distracted me with a conversation about mystical literature, the evangelical left, or really anything else, I would be pretty excited.

Karina Puttieva ‘11: I hail from northern New Jersey, love Haverford and the Women’s Center, and am a junior majoring in English. I am peculiarly frightened by dogs, treadmills, and piggy-back rides. I am also deathly afraid of being tickled. I enjoy frolicking in the city and gallivanting in the country. I would also kill to see Beck, PJ Harvey, or Ani Difranco in concert.

Annie Tague ‘10: My greatest loves are wonderful people, food (so its convenient that I also love to cook), and the wilderness and all of its magic, flora and fauna. Some might say I’m bubbly, and have an infamous cackle of a laugh. I’m majoring in English at Haverford, this is my second year in E-Haus, and I’m excited to be in my first semester as part of the Women’s Center staff.

Interns:

Liz Cohen-Scheer ‘12: Liz Cohen-Scheer is a sophomore who loves plants, peanut butter, and the New York Yankees. She is planning on declaring her major in either English or Comparative Literature later this semester. Despite having neither a beret nor a fancy moustache, she is also a great admirer of all things French. Oui, mon amour, the Women’s Center is fantastic and Liz is so excited to be working there this year.

Maria Etienne ‘13: Hey, my name is Maria. I’m a freshman and as undecided as I can be. I love movies and everything to do with them. I’m excited to be on staff this year and can’t wait to be of help.

suminSumin Park ‘13: Hello! I’m a fresh-woman intern at this fantastic Women’s Center.  I’m from Ambler, PA which is only 40 minute drive from Haverford College.  I’m thinking about majoring in either Anthropology, Biology or Psychology.  I love dogs; I get so happy whenever I see them around the campus (and that is my chihuahua Coby in the picture!)  Coffee defines my life; I cannot live without them.  I adore eating, napping, and giggling at the stupidest jokes.

dillonDillon Chestnut ‘13: Ayo! I’m Dillon; I’m a freshman from Putnam Valley, NY, which is a tiny town that abounds with residual farmland and housing developments…yayyy! I plan on majoring in Political Science, with a minor in Women and Gender Studies, if that is possible. I love underground hip-hop (none of that mainstream garbage, I pump the real stuff), sneaker/shoe collecting, bargain shopping, baking cupcakes, and devouring mass amounts of BBQ pulled pork with incessant voracity. In fact, I vehemently contend that BBQ pulled pork is humankind’s most valuable invention. Wheels and phones are cool, but pulled pork is magic. Yea, anyway, I am psyched to be an intern at the Women’s Center; it’s a dream come true. Shout out to Annie, Misha, Karina, Cara, and Marilou! Woooooooo!
