At the moment, the Listening Project is not holding an open recording period, so the tape recorders are not generally available… but don’t let that stop you from making a tape! If you’re interested in recording with us, just read over the directions below and contact one of us… we’ll hook you up with a tape recorder. Current students, alumni, faculty, and staff are all welcome!
Want to make a Listening Project recording? It’s easy!
1. Take a look at the list of interview questions and decide which ones you’d like to answer.
2. Find an interview partner – either someone who will interview you or whom you’d like to interview. This can be anyone in the Haverford community: a friend, a classmate, a neighbor, or one of the lovely LP volunteers.
3. Go to one of the four recording sites: Ryan Gym, Roberts Basement, the DC Basement, or the Humanities Center (Stokes 103). If it’s too noisy, borrow the recorder for a bit.
4. Look over and sign the recording release form.
5. Grab a tape and hit record! Be sure to identify yourself at the end, either by name or, if you’d like to remain anonymous, by some other defining feature (for example, “I’m a girl” or “I’m a freshman”).
6. When you’re done recording, place your tape and release form in an envelope, which you can either drop off/campus mail to the Humanities Center (Stokes 103).
