Arbor Day Celebration

Friday, April 24th, 2009

img_1186Arboretum members, College staff, and local community members celebrated the 108th Arbor Day tree planting today. Attendees helped plant a native dogwood, Cornus florida, between Leeds dorm and Walton Road, across from the track. All participants were given a tiny tree or perennial to plant at home.

Arbor Day was founded by J. Sterling Morton in Nebraska in 1872.
