Fay Strongin ‘10

Hi, my name is Fay and this summer I am an urban farmer at Weavers Way in Germantown, Pennsylvania. After spending a wonderful summer at D Acres Organic Farm and Educational Homestead in New Hampshire, I decided to see what urban farming is all about. As an intern at Weavers Way Farm I’ll begin to learn how to manage a small diversified farm and how to plan and run educational programs about agriculture for local school groups. I look forward to spending my summer in Philadelphia exploring the intersection between urban and rural life, the dynamics of local food production, and getting to know all the plants and people who make it happen.
