first day on the farm

Today was my first day at Weaver’s Way and I’m feeling great—muscles tired and ready for bed, but mind still buzzing with the activities of the day.  I joined the team at the Henry Got Crops CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) at Saul Agricultural High School. We weeded, planted, prepared beds, harvested, washed, and weeded some more.  Beets, radishes, turnips, cabbage, greens, squash, carrots, weeds: the vegetal cast of characters that I look forward to getting to know better every day.  The sky darkened, thunder threatened, and the farm day ended as we scurried to get the tools put away.
